We all know Winter is always going to be the cold, snowing and the best time for hot chocolates! In this cold weather, you will crave for a warm drink and stay warm&cozy! But the downside is that Winter is very dry and cold weather, so to solve that I need multiple layers and good moisturisers! My lips, my fingers dry up really fast and my skin always looks dehydrated and dull even though I drank plenty of water. Let me share you some of the tips of my favourite and definitely affordable skincare products for this Winter in the UK 2020!

I have gone through my 3rd bottle of body moisturiser and this is my current favourite body moisturiser with a vanilla scent by Aveeno. Aveeno is known for the use of natural ingredients, colloidal oatmeal. I could confidently say this is one of the affordable and trusted moisturisers that does the job to keep my skin feeling smooth and full of moisture. Another thing about this moisturiser is that it is non-greasy and I prefer this as it is great for everyday use. This was recommended by a close friend of mine who stayed in the UK.
My all-time favourite skincare product. Apply this as the last step of your night skincare routine, since it is a sleeping mask you will only rinse it off in the morning. One of the most popular Korean skincare product and its perfect for the winter season in the UK. It is a gel-like texture, super lightweight and not sticky or tacky whatsoever. Also, it comes together with a mini-application spatula. It has a nice soft scent to it and I never felt uncomfortable sleeping with this mask. I love how my skin complexion in the morning, giving me a moisturise and hydrated skin. I use almost daily and it is great for almost any skin type. I got mine from Yesstyle as there is no Sephora in the UK. So if you're not from the UK, you could get it from Sephora.
I can't leave out the lip sleeping mask after knowing how amazing the water sleeping mask. It is my second all-time favourite skincare product and it comes together with a mini-application spatula. It is so alike to the water sleeping mask, so apply it on your lips before heading to bed however I apply it every morning as well. You don't need to rinse this off and you will see how plump and hydrated your lips are in the morning. There are 4 flavours and I got mine in grapefruit. I absolutely love the fruity scent on my lips. It gives a beautiful shine on my lips due to its creamy-like formula and keeping it hydrated most importantly. It is not sticky and it absorbs well on my lips, repairing my dry lips in this cold weather. I got mine from Sephora back in Singapore around last year and the tub is only half used till today. Will definitely get this again!
This is the staple moisturiser and it literally won over all of my previous moisturisers. Its a fragrance-free and oil-free face moisturiser which is great for combination-oily skin like mine. It is a gel texture and lightweight, which is perfect for me as I truly dislike heavy moisturiser that makes me feel like washing it off. I love the gel smooth formula so it does not give that tacky feeling when I applied it in my skincare routine. This moisturiser gives a mattifying finish and with a small pump of this moisturiser is enough for my entire face. I used this back in Singapore when it was humid and I brought it here to the UK for the colder weather, and it still works well for me. You could simply get this from Sephora and literally any places department stores in the UK eg. Boots, Fenwick, Debenhams etc
£31 from Boots
This soft and airy UV essence sunblock is perfect! It is exactly as described as being 'soft and airy'.
It never bothers my oily skin, unlike most sunblocks. I have been using it every day now for the past 3 months. Recently, I learned that sunscreen is important for glowing skin as the sun dehydrates your skin, increase hyperpigmentation, larger pores and etc. Thus, sunscreen is vital for your morning routine even during the winter. I got mine from Yesstyle together with the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask.
A new addition to my skincare routine that replaces my Innisfree Volcanic Mousse clay mask. Apply this only twice a week for a deep 10minutes cleansing treatment, and it gently exfoliates your skin. I tried a few turmeric masks in the past, but this clay mask does not overdry my skin nor have a strong smell. It was recommended to me by a friend but the main reason why I bought because it contains witch hazel. I heard of witch hazel being a wonder for acne and oily skin, as it acts as an astringent and cleanses the skin and minimizing pores. Tumeric itself is extremely known especially in Asia for its properties of being rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, thus giving a healthy glowing skin. I got mine from Superdrug for less than £4 due to store promotions, so it was a great steal for me.
Additional tips:
Use a body wash that is moisturising. I am currently using Dove and I love the shea butter and vanilla scent! Any other body wash with honey or oat extract is great too.
Carry lip balms your purse and bags whenever you are for the day
Try Lush - Mask of Magnaminty, known for deep stimulating and cleansing (I am planning to purchase this soon)
I have been using The Ordinary skincare regime, additional winter skincare product is The Ordinary HA Moisturing (I will add the link, once it's up)
Use a Face mist during a long day and also, a makeup artist advises me to use in between when applying makeup - Laneige, Clinique

I do not have the perfect flawless skin but I will try my best to stay hydrated and moisturize. I really hope this post is useful and covers the basic winter skincare. However, since I am back to Singapore, a humid country, the basic essentials I mentioned here could be applied too.
(a very late post due to COVID-19, my research project submission and my last minute travel back to Singapore)
Take care and stay safe everyone!
